Opinel Partners with Leave No Trace to Launch the National Parks Collection: A Celebration of Responsible Outdoor Recreation

Opinel's heritage is rooted in a deep respect for nature. For over 135 years, we’ve created knives and tools designed to serve those who explore and cherish the outdoors. Today, we’re proud to take that commitment one step further by partnering with Leave No Trace—a national nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the outdoors through science, education, and stewardship—to launch our National Parks Collection: an ode to some of the United States’ most cherished natural treasures.

“At Opinel, we believe that the aura of America’s National Parks extends far beyond their borders—they are among the greatest treasures of the nation. In tribute to this enduring legacy, we celebrate the beauty of the outdoors through timeless craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a shared passion for nature. This collection is a reflection of our commitment to preserving and honoring the natural world through art, utility, and conversation.” Alex Delecroix, Opinel USA Director

A Collaboration Rooted in Shared Values

By choosing a knife from the Opinel National Parks Collection, you’re investing in more than a beautifully crafted tool—you’re also contributing to the protection of America’s incredibly rich natural ecosystems . A portion of proceeds from each knife supports Leave No Trace and their mission to promote responsible recreation and environmental stewardship.

Leave No Trace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing Leave No Trace programs, education, training and outreach in all 50 states. Utilizing the power of science, education for all, and stewardship to support and protect nature, Leave No Trace is on a mission to ensure a sustainable future for the outdoors and the planet. At Leave No Trace, there is no substitute for nature. From neighborhood walks to backcountry treks, the outdoors is for everyone. But it all has an impact. More use, over use, trash, endangered wildlife and around it all: climate change. Leave No Trace empowers people to be the solution to conservation.

This partnership is a natural fit. Just as Opinel creates enduring tools meant to be passed down through generations, Leave No Trace is committed to ensuring that wild places remain protected and accessible for future generations.

"We’re proud to partner with Opinel USA on this national park-inspired collection. It’s a powerful reminder of the iconic places we protect, and the simple actions each of us can take to help preserve them for future generations."
—Dana Watts, Executive Director, Leave No Trace

Opinel’s National Parks Collection

Opinel’s new National Parks collection is a tribute to America’s most iconic landscapes. Inspired by the timeless beauty of these natural wonders, this collection was created in collaboration with local artists who have captured the essence of the parks they call home.

Crafted in the French Alps, where Opinel has been making durable and dependable knives since 1890, the collection features our iconic No.08 folding knife. Lightweight and perfectly sized for life on the trail or around the campfire, it’s a trusted companion for any adventure.

Each knife is made with care and intention, featuring a PEFC-certified beech wood handle, a stainless steel blade, and our signature Virobloc® safety lock. It’s a tool built to last—and to inspire a deeper connection with the outdoors.

The Opinel National Parks Collection includes:
