The Versus Skatepark was created in 2017 in the Maurienne Valley, the birthplace of Opinel. Twelve major features designed by the Skate & Create association have been built year after year through community-led projects, with the support of local companies including Opinel.
The park’s signature feature, the Opinel Volcano, stands 6 metres high. It was decorated by artist Chufy in 2019 and by Lucas Beaufort in 2023. In 2026, Opinel is entrusting the Opinel Volcano to Jeremy Fish,a San Francisco-based artist and illustrator with strong ties to the skateboarding world, renowned for his distinctive style blending popular culture, folklore and comic-book art.
“This collaboration with Opinel has been very special to me. My grandfather Fish was a travelling cutlery salesman when I was a child. My grandfather D’Agostino was a master cabinetmaker, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman with an impressive knife collection. This project gave me the opportunity to pay tribute to them and reflect on the influence they had on me.”
— Jeremy Fish
The limited-edition “No.08 The Swordfisherman by Jeremy Fish” is a miniature version of the skatepark’s signature feature, the Opinel Volcano. The design is applied to the entire handle using all-over sublimation printing, while both sides of the blade are engraved. It comes with specially designed packaging and an accompanying leaflet.
Little has changed since 1890. Rooted in history and a commitment to craftsmanship, we're still following in Joseph Opinel's footsteps nearly 130 years later. From our home in the Alps, we make tools designed to stand the test of time. We value the quaility of our knives and tools, and offer a limited lifetime warranty for all Opinel products. In the event of a manufacturer's defect or workmanship, Opinel will exchange the products affected.

For over 130 years Opinel has been crafting knives and tools in the heart of the French Alps. Much like Joseph Opinel did from his workshop in 1890, today we still manufacture Opinel products from our factory in Chambery, France.
