great knife for camping, the handle has a great grip compared to the wood

the silicon handle makes me feel great, if a little itchy due to the grip hurting my hand, but it works well enough.

Kids Loved it!

so, i was buying a knife for valentine's day for my girlfriend. i usually try to not buy her knives because it's just a little weird, but she loves it! i got "love you babe" engraved on the blade, and she's been carrying it everywhere! valentine's day is still a little away, but i wanted to get her a super early gift! I'll probably be buying her the knife maintenance kit or something similar due to how careful she likes to be with the things she has. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU OPINEL!!!!!!!!<3

Excellent First EDC

I got this knife because of size and to see if it handled day to day work. It does superbly. Not only as a kids knife but as a viable adult knife user choice as well. There are no issues with stiff opening to deal with. That’s an Opinel thing, no a problem if you understand it but here it’s a non issue with the polymer handle. It’s light and simple to use, locks open or closed securely and cuts like a champ. Slicing ability is great and it’s also very nonthreatening in more civilized situations. Thanks to the rounded end it’s a spreader and a cutter for food prep. For wood working this knife performs well. Cool thing is the blade spine provides a great scrapping tool. All in all this is a knife you can use for a lifetime. For adults and kids doing knife work together it’s ideal.

Great first knife

I've bought these for two of my 3 kids as their first knife when they go on their first camping trip with Dad to the boundary waters canoe area. These are great, they are real knives, well built, and have some safety features. Kids still cut themselves because they are kids, but i'm very impressed. The third will get one as well, but he's only three right now. I highly recommend these. Our entire group of Dad's have now bought these for their kids, everyone is very happy with them, even if we need to pack extra band-aides for the first trip.

Great product very quick delivery

Incredibly ordered this and a no.8 outdoor for my son and daughter (with engraving) last Thursday and received it Monday! They are off traveling so I am thrilled...Opinel always good quality and knives are sharp but this one is special because it has no pointed end or snap mechanism meaning much safer for younger hands.
