It may be dubbed the No.07 Chestnut and Garlic knife, but this small folding knife can do a whole lot more than peel garlic and score chestnuts. The snub nose of the blade makes this knife ideal for small, precise cuts, so while it’s great for pitting apricots, plums and other stone fruits, it is also an excellent tool for whittling wood!
With a chestnut wood handle and a short and sturdy stainless steel blade, the No.07 Chestnut Knife is compact, lightweight, and efficient. It will find a home in your kitchen drawers just as easily as it would your foraging or woodworking bag!

i have a hobby regarding chestnuts. i gather them from my tree in my yard, score them with this, then roast them, and then i sell them around the neighborhood. thank you opinel, for helping to put more cash for more opinel knives in my pocket with this one!
A super handy pocket knife- I've never cut garlic with it, but it's easier and safer to use sometimes, than the filet-type knives. Great for opening boxes and sealed bottles.
I bought two of the garlic folding knives giving one to my wife and one to my daughter. They both own numerous Opinel knives but I suspected that buying only one knife was going to cause trouble. I was right. My daughter saw my wife's gift and wondered what she had done wrong to not receive one. When my wife declared if was the best knife she has ever owned. I rummaged through the envelope and found the second knife. Everyone has happy. Both new owners believe the knife is special and a must have . Thanks for providing another unusual, beautifully designed, effective and safe. Thank you. MN
I purchased two of these knives to serve in different capacities. One is a kitchen knife used for cleaning and prepping meat, fruit and veg including fibrous plants like jackfruit. The other is used as a general use and garden knife opening boxes, breaking down cardboard, trimming plants, cutting line and plastic, etc. I bought these to complement my other Opinels--in this case, a Burgundy Inox No. 8 in the kitchen and a No. 10 Billhook in the garden--and the No. 7 Chesnut and Garlic knife (itself made of Inox) works really well. It has a well-shaped, somewhat slim, but comfortable handle that provides a high level of control. And this is paired with a stout, gently curved, very well ground blade with a rather strong tip. It is easily sharpened and a basic strop helps keep it like a razor. All told, this is a sturdy and competent folding knife fully able to take on a lot of different tasks with ease. Highly recommend.
